ABOUT ME
Hello I
would like to thank everyone for taking the time for visiting my site,
it is greatly appreciated. As you can probably see I have my hands in
quite a bit. I have been interested in fashion and entertainment as long
as I can remember. I have been acting and performing since the age of 5,
performing at both small and big venues such as Carnegie and Avery
Fisher Hall, in addition to performing in over 20 plays & productions. I
was the a
spokesperson for Arnolds Hatters on 34th Street, and The Handsome
Boutique clothing stores between 98-04. I am a Triple C Award recipient for Character
Courage and Commitment from the Attorney General. As well as the
recipient of the Martin Luther King Award for Humanitarianism and
Brotherhood for my extensive work with the homeless. I have cooked and
served for the homeless over the last 10 years, in addition to raising money
for the Salvation army, Katrina Relief fund, and Tsunami
Relief fund through my bake sales and charity events.
SALACIOUS COUTURE
I started
designing at the age of 13, then began to create costumes for school plays and performances that I
was casted in. I began winning awards for my costume designs and
appearing on NY1 as a brief correspondent for one of my designs. I later
turned my views towards mainstream fashion with an interest in both
street and couture styles finding an appreciation of the blending of the
two. I primarily design women's wear, which tend to have a Punk Goth Mod feel... At around 17, I
began to work on my line and naming it Salacious which means lustful and
tempting, sexy and lascivious. Over the time span of 2006 and 2008, I
began to show my work at fashion shows around the New York tri-state
are. Having done shows for colleges such as New York Institute and
Technology, St. Johns University, and Columbia University. In 2009 I
presented my Fall collection during New York Fashion Week (VIDEO TO THE
RIGHT) In the
future, I hope to develop a more defined style making a big
splash on the fashion world while continuing with my original eye and
style.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND GRAPHIC DESIGN
My
interest in photography began in High school, shooting events for after
school activities, and family functions. In an effort to cultivate my
many interests, I merged my various work into one with testing my
clothes on models, while developing my photography skills. I began using
film and moved my way over to digital, which then set the stage for my
interest in graphic design. I then developed a particular eye for
fashion and fashion editorials.
Over time I developed my eye and shooting style, which
continues to grow a evolve after every project. I specialize in fashion
& commercial photography. I have been blessed to shoot for several
magazines across the country, as well as shooting campaigns for some
well known brands.
My interest
in graphic
design began after I began shooting digitally, I began to learn the art of
post-production and retouching. I took a particular interest in the
advertisement aspect of graphic design, because it blended so well with
my other two big interests. Therefore, I decided to pursue a BA in
Graphic Design/ Advertisement Design. Graphic design has strongly
influenced my Fashion Design and Photography, it has given me the
understanding of composition and color, structure, and communicating my
ideas visually through my couture and photography.
